We worked directly with Sony Pictures, Ghost Corps and legendary filmmaker Ivan Reitman on building a VR experience for one of our favorite franchises: Ghostbusters. Now Hiring Act 1: Firehouse is the first chapter of an ongoing experience, available on PlayStation VR.

Seeing the possibilities


We wanted to create the ultimate dream-come-true for fans: becoming a Ghostbuster themselves. Players start outside the iconic Firehouse Headquarters in New York City, but even before their first interview they come face-to-face with the paranormal. Patton Oswalt brings his voice talents to Mooglie, the ghost in the iconic logo, who emerges from his sign to instruct players in the ways of ghostbusting. After Slimer appears, it’s time to set things right.

Entering the world


Lovingly recreated in detail, players are free to explore the inside of the Firehouse and discover its secrets (how many headshots of Kevin have you found?). Ghosts are directly translated from the feature film’s visual effects, brought to life with dynamic animation. Motion controls give the Proton Wand and Ghost Trapping a new physical dimension that’s not possible in traditional games, using physics and real-life movements to greatly enhance the presence and fun of VR.
